Popular current affairs website 'The Conversation' offered an interesting article on 'The Thalidomide Catastrophe'
The article, written by Joel Lexchin looked specifically at Canada’s response to the consequences of the infamous drug.
He questions, ‘What was the basis for approving thalidomide (sold in Canada under the name Kevadon by the William S. Merrell Co.)? When did the government first learn about the side effects from thalidomide? How quickly did it act after learning about these side effects?’
