Eleanor Watkins

 Eleanor Watkins was born on a remote hill farm and has lived in a rural community all her life. As soon as she could read, she knew she wanted to write stories too. Her first paid piece of writing was at the age of twenty-one, her first book ten years later. Over the years, forty-four books have followed, most of them fiction for children and YA, plus numerous short stories and articles. The most recent are the Beech Bank Girls series with Dernier Publishing and The Village series with Books to Treasure, with more in the pipeline. Eleanor loves the countryside, gardening, travel, reading. She lives with her husband in an old farmhouse overlooking the beautiful Wye Valley near the book town of Hay-on-Wye, and they have four adult children and five grandchildren.
