Fiona Linday

Fiona Linday

Fiona is treasurer of Scriptorium, an Association of Christian Writers Nottinghamshire affiliated group and also a member of the Society of Authors. She first wrote the young adult novel Get Over It, published by Onwards and Upwards, in 2009. That was read at the Nottingham Arts for Change with Renaissance One. Shortly before came her prize-winning short story, Off the Beaten Track. Then, she won the Unique Writing Publications Short Story Award with some prose non-fiction entitled Love in Spiritual Awakenings, Stories of Praise & Redemption. Afterwards, she published an eBook anthology called The Heavenly Road Trip. Included in the Welcome to Leicester poetry collection with ‘Our Picasso Dish’, she also edited Family Matters, an Anthology of new writing, at Dahlia Publishing. In that 2018/19 Arts Council England supported anthology writing project she collaborated with learners from Attenborough Arts Centre, Leicester University.
Several of her stories and poems are included in anthologies.

Fiona Linday here offers us an insightful collection of her short stories and poems – some fact, some fiction, but all powerful narratives of the world we live in.

Exploring different cultures, different generations, and highlighting inequality, injustice and pain, Fiona nonetheless manages to steer us all in the direction of hope, purpose and life.

[These are] stories that have to be told.
