Get involved in Bookshop Day!
It may seem like a while away, but it’s definitely not too early to be thinking about Bookshop Day!
This year it lands on Saturday 12th October (2024). Rather than risk leaving it to the last minute, now is a good time to start considering how you might best be a part of the day and support your local Christian Bookshop in doing so. Here are some ways that you can help:
- Talk about it on your social media. This is perhaps the easiest way you can support your bookshop, but it can be extremely helpful. Look out for social media assets that will become available on the Booksellers Association website, nearer the time. You could change your profile banner for a few days leading up to the event.
- Make a 30-second video promoting your local Christian bookshop. If you are sharing it on social media, then tag them in if possible.
- Drop into your local bookshop and have a photo taken with them. Sharing a photo like this is a lovely personal way to show your support. It’s probably best to ask them in advance and find a time that suits them to do this.
- When posting on social media, include the hashtags #BookshopDay#ChooseChristianBookshops and tag in @booksaremybag. This will help to ensure that your post gets seen by as many people as possible.
- Do you have any freebies that you could offer your local bookshop to use on the day? Such as bookmarks, samples or books.
