Can anything new be said about Christmas? A dip into Christ is Born in Bethlehem answers that question with a resounding yes. These poems, centred on the age-old story of the Nativity, abound in novel insights which warm the heart, amuse, inspire, and sometimes even startle. Thank you, Howard Webber, for giving us a new understanding of God’s Christmas gift to the world.

If you love Christmas, if you love the One who came to earth as a tiny baby and who will one day come again as King, and if you love the kind of verses that express profound truths in language that is – in the best sense of the word – simple, then you will love this book of poems by Howard Webber. For he too loves Christmas, he too loves the Lord of Christmas, and he has been gifted with the ability to write of these things in a winsome manner that will touch your heart and stay in your mind. I heartily recommend this collection of Howard’s poems, and I think it will become a favourite that you will want to open again every year as the celebration of Christ’s birth draws near
