About the Author

Lizzie Hunt
Lizzie Hunt describes herself as “an astonished author” and her writing style reflects this wide-eyed wonder as the story unfolds. Following the death of her husband in 2021, she was surprised to discover a gift for allegorical storytelling while she navigated the complex paradoxes of faith and loss.
In her first book, Healing in the Potter’s House, she describes an imaginary visit to heaven, where she experiences the genuine comfort of the Holy Spirit as she explores her bewildered grief in the context of the scriptural truths she has embraced from childhood. Her host, the Potter, interprets many of the pictures and scenes she encounters in her journey through the house, but what will she do with the many unanswered questions?
Lizzie has lived in Cambridgeshire, England, for most of her life. She has a son and daughter, both married, and twin granddaughters. A retired speech and language therapist and missionary, she is very active in her local church, with speaking engagements at home and abroad. She enjoys reading, music, walking and talking with friends, “especially the Holy Spirit”.

Take a walk with Lizzie and the Lord as He ministers truth and grace to the woundedness she feels after the death of her husband, Garry. It is breathtaking to experience God healing Lizzie’s heart. You will be caught away in this living encounter with the Living God, and sense Him ministering directly to your heart as you read.

I recommend that you read this book out loud! My first read was a cursory one, as Lizzie had invited my reflections. Initially, I was rather inattentive as I was reading while endeavouring to form a valued opinion. However, as a friend and I began to read it out loud together, we both became overwhelmed when our emotions interrupted us. We felt Lizzie’s heart stream from every page as her eloquent poetic words painted a picture. This book excels in illustrating what it means to be loved, healed and restored. It impacted and gripped us and we couldn’t put it down. A must-read.

Essentially, this book illustrates a journey – a journey in which the Potter and the Holy Spirit and Jesus take Lizzie through the pain of losing her beloved husband.
For me, it is a journey that is more than imagination; it has true spiritual reality. Each room she visits in the Potter’s House has an impact on her, and she responds remarkably honestly in each situation. Also, Jesus feels so extraordinarily real to me as she meets with him!
I have no doubt that the Holy Spirit had a hand in this writing and it will bless many people, and there are many ideas and phrases in it that I will never forget.
