About the Author
Geoff Stock
Geoff Stock, born and growing up in Bristol, was educated at Ashley Down, St Gabriel’s and Colston’s Schools. He gained a General Arts Degree and Diploma in Education at St John’s College, Durham, before embarking on a teaching career in both state and independent schools, where he particularly enjoyed teaching English, History, Religious Education and Games.
In 1975, concerned by the shortage of youth facilities in his area, Geoff founded Horfield Young People’s Club, and in 2017, whilst still leader of the club, he was awarded an MBE for Services to Youth and the Community in Horfield, Bristol.
His interests include cricket and football, music and drama, and he also loves to support churches and other groups doing things together in the community.
Geoff believes he was inspired to take up poetry on his first day in Oncology in 2019. He commenced his first novel, ‘Jimmy Evans and The New School’ in January 2021, and is buzzing with ideas for further books.
