Stephen Hilliam
Stephen is a retired primary school teacher with more than thirty years’ experience. Writing has always been his passion, and it became his ambition to write a children’s novel when, as a ten-year-old in a school classroom, he was captivated by C.S.Lewis’s “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe”. As a full time teacher he used his talents to create short stories for the classes he taught, penned sketches for school productions and wrote the staff Christmas pantomime for many years. Now, with more time on his hands, he has finally fulfilled his ambition, becoming a prolific children’s author.
Stephen still tutors children part time with his wife Pauline at their home in Surrey. The have two grown up sons, and the men of the family all love sport, though Stephen’s interest is more of a watching rather than participating type now. His hobbies include reading, painting, going to the theatre or cinema and walking in the beautiful Surrey countryside.
The whole family are committed Christians and are involved in the life of local churches.
