O&U authors promoted at Churches Bookshop event

Two Onwards and Upwards authors were invited to Churches Bookshop for a book signing event in June.
Churches Bookshop invited four local authors to a special book-signing day at their store on 16th June 2018. The shop, managed by Andrew and Georgia, is the only Christian bookshop on the Isle of Man and has been running since 1971.
From midday to 1pm, best-selling author P. A. Kennan held a book-signing session for her two books, OCD: Be Still and Know and Depression: Jesus is Calling You.
Then from 1pm to 2pm, former missionary and successful poet Alison Stedman signed copies of her latest published collection of poems, Raised from Dust.

About the Books
- What is Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)?
- Why do some Christians struggle with anxiety?
- Can the Bible help with psychological disorders?
- How can we break free from fear?
P. A. Kennan herself struggled with the debilitating effects of OCD – until one day she found herself in a life-threatening situation, and discovered the key to her healing.
Kennan describes the biology of OCD, then guides the reader through the relevant emotional and spiritual issues, providing practical insight that can lead towards recovery. Helpful both for OCD sufferers and those who are trying to support them, this holistic guide provides a biblical, Christian perspective on current medical understanding.

Helpful both for those suffering from any level of depression, as well as a useful resource for counselling, this holistic guide provides a biblical, Christian perspective on current medical understanding.
In this collection of poems, Alison takes us on a journey around the world, from the familiar sight of a homeless man on the streets to the wonders of Asian countryside and culture. With sentiments echoing Ecclesiastes, she mourns the transient nature of our lives and all that we see around us. She then flips the coin and explores birth and rebirth, leading to a hope that transcends our temporal existence here on earth.
